The cultural tendency of 13 year old girls (especially on this site) to take LSD as if it were a party drug is unsettling. None of them understand the historical or cultural weight that Acid has in the American psyche—it was never suppose to be a ‘fun’ drug per se. The ergot which it is derived from has it’s roots as far back as the Greeks who used it to produced visions which they called the muses. A substance which is partly responsible for the invention of poetry and geometry should not be taken for the first time at a rave. There are hundreds of stories where people on acid have huge personal revelations and that’s how it works: acid is a very small push that opens an unimaginable door in your mind.
